I am a candidate for the Zion-Benton Township High School District 126 School Board. Our Superintendent, Dr. Jesse Rodriguez, has set rigorous goals for the District (Mission 2025) to ensure that students graduate prepared for life, for career or for college. These are great goals! To achieve them he proposes:
- Graduation rate of 90%
- 90% of students have Post-Secondary plans
- Attendance of 90%
- Teacher retention rate of 90%
My goal, as a District 126 School Board member, will be to ensure the students receive the best possible education while respecting the budgetary constraints of our low-income community. My emphasis will be on the following:
- Academic excellence
- Fiscal responsibility
- Improved communications with the community
- Cooperation between taxing bodies
